I've been busy knitting samples for a yarn shop in my area.
Yarnhouse Knits (http://www.yarnhouseknits.com/wp/) in the NoDa (http://www.noda.org/) district of Charlotte, NC.

After a friend introduced me to the yarn shop owner, he quickly asked me to knit some displays for his shop. I was happy to oblige. cloud9

So far, here are the things I have knit for the shop:

Handspun Ribbed Hat (http://knitting-and.com/wiki/Handspun_Ribbed_Hat) with Queensland Kathmandu Chunky (http://www.knittingfever.com/c/yarn/queensland-collection-kathmandu-chunky/)

I love the baby set also. So SOFT!!
And the felted bag was so quick and felted very easily. The marabou trim is luxurious and rich-looking. Just love it!

It is AMAZING! I've learned a lot too. I want the projects to turn out perfectly, so they will be a good example of the patterns and kits he is selling.

Sandy, where is this in Charlotte? I am in Rock Hill SC and our little shop closed so I have only been going to Rainy Day Creations in Pineville or just to our Michales for yarn. Would love to check this shop out sometime

Yarnhouse (http://www.yarnhouseknits.com/wp/) is in the NoDa district of Charlotte, on North Davidson Street. (NoDa is short for North Davidson) It's an update, urban, artsy area. Not the safest part of town, but very hip and "with it".

The shop itself is clean and sleek, has a nice selection of yarns, and a decent amount of nice notions. Chris (one of the owners) is friendly, and fluent in English and Spanish.

Let us know if you go to visit - and tell us how you like it.

You also might enjoy going to Cottage Yarn (http://www.cottageyarn.com/) in Mint Hill. My cousin, Sara owns that shop, and is very friendly and helpful. The other shop workers are wonderful as well. She has a great selection of yarns and supplies, as well as a discount porch with yarn at 40% off.
