im just starting out in knitting but would like to work towards learning to knit socks. can anyone recomend a good book for beginners for this please?

i like the idea of making something smaller but can still have different patterns for me to get my teeth into. also all the yarn i keep seeing is beautiful :)

Hi! Socks are an abitious project, but I always liked making them and you learn those fast, really.

American books I am not so familiar with, that is why I will not recommend anything here. I did learn out of a collection book I bought when I was about 10 years old, so there was a short introduction and basic pattern. The rest I made up as I went.

A lot of people like Silver's sock class (http://www.knittinghelp.com/forum/www.cometosilver.com/socks/) online; she gives a couple different methods which are pretty detailed.
