I'm looking for a pattern for an early 1900s style swimsuit (to be worn as a Halloween costume). I've been searching for months and can't find anything suitable. Does anyone have ideas about how to go about designing something like this, or adapting something from an existing pattern?

I've never done such a project, but if I were you I'd find a knitted tank top pattern and just extend the bottom by knitting much longer than the pattern calls for. Then it should sit below your hips and you can add stripes or keep it plain. Hope this helps!

I also found this site....they're not knitted, but it shows what the bathing suits of the 1900s looked like.
