So I'm making this daisy hat for a couple little girls. I did the hat no problem, but I got to the i-cord daisy and i'm totally stumped. you don't need to download the pattern pdf to help with my question. you can tell from the link what the flowers look like. the pattern says to knit an i-cord 15 inches long, then fold accordion style until 6 petals are formed. well, I folded accordion style for an hour and i could not get it in the flower shape!! I cannot figure out how to make a flower out of it. I even made the i-cord an extra inch long. Can anyone give me some tips on shaping that most simple of flowers??

If I can't figure it out, I'll probably just embroider some daisies on, or maybe find some silk daisies to sew on.

Here's the link:

Thanks so much!

You need to have a length of yarn in a needle, then sew thru the bottom loops of the accordian folds - this will be the center of the flower. The outside loops become the petals.

There are also a bunch of flower patterns at lionbrand.com. You might find something else you can use there.
