I saw a beanie a couple years ago and loved it. Since then, I've tried to find a pattern for something similar, or even a picture of something like it. I finally found a picture of a similar beanie, but have been beating my head against a wall trying to find a pattern.

Does anyone have a pattern for something similar?

That one looks like it's possibly made with bulky yarn or maybe a heavy worsted. Here's a few similar ones.

That's not a woven st, but something like cables where the main pattern is slip 3 sts to a holder hold in front, k3, then knit the 3 from the holder. Then knit several rows and k3, slip 3 to a holder and hold in back, k3, then knit 3 from the holder.

I agree, cables in just a "woven look".
See, here is a pattern using cables to make an impression of weaving. That is not a beanie but a pattern for cable structures like this.

and here is a stole:

I found this pattern a few years ago and printed it for myself, it sounds like the one you are talking about.

I haven't made it yet so I can't help with any real way about how to go about it, but if you know how to cable it should be similar. Hope that helps....
