I had the pleasure of test-knitting one of the patterns from Cookie A.'s new book, Knit. Pray. Love. (http://www.cookiea.com/shop/knit-sock-love/) The book is officially available for pre-orders, and it comes out on November 20th. Hence, test knitters were given the green light to talk about the socks we knit!

I knit In and Out (http://www.cookiea.com/shop/knit-sock-love/in_and_out.html), a fabulous pattern!

I used Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock, and the color is Periwinkle. I knit this pair on size 0 needles, and it took me slightly over two weeks to finish.

If you have never test knit before, I highly encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity, should it present itself. It was a wonderful experience to interact with other knitters to work out kinks in the pattern and tweak the language.

Cookie A. was a delight to knit for. She responded quickly to questions and was just the most down-to-earth lady ever. She's one of the knitting experts I'd love to meet, should I ever have the money to attend knitting camp.

I hope you don't mind if I post a few more pictures. It's not that I'm in love with myself, but I am in love with these socks!!! They are a PERFECT fit for my humongous size 8 feet!

I like those socks! I am knitting a Christmas stocking and can't figure out the heel directions and I've never knit socks/stockings before. Is there a video or any simple directions anywhere that you know of? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I learned to knit socks using Silver's (http://www.cometosilver.com/socks/) tutorial. She has step-by-step instructions.
I am sure that YouTube has tons of videos, though.

Moni, you are too funny!

Long ago, I decided that I wanted to pose my knitted things better, so I figured out that by wearing them and posing like the models in patterns, I'd accomplish this goal.

Since my daughter left for college, I've figured out what assortment of books I need to set my camera on, and thanks to the timer, I have myself a good old time! :teehee:

Wonder what the neighbors thought, you out there in your sox with a camera up on some books, turning this way and that LOL.
The socks do look just lovely, and your modeling is very nice, too.

Oh, they've witnessed the sight many, many times. I'm pretty certain they call me the "Crazy Sock Lady" (kind of like the crazy cat lady). :teehee:

Those socks are amazing! :muah: I love to see your sock FO's because not only are they beautiful but you love to knit socks and that is amazing to me, too. I just don't have it in me. :aww:

And, from one size 8 foot to another, I really don't think they are THAT big.

Very interesting the way the cables work around the heel of the foot and the way the top of the foot is done. I also like how each cable works perfectly into the ribbing. Very nice pattern and you did a good job on them. Nice advertising too.
