Hey Everyone,

The years just keep rolling by! Hard to imagine that KnittingHelp is now 6 years old! I wish Amy and I had time to do something special to celebrate. But we have been so busy, both with our daughter Erin (who will be 2 next month!) and working on the website here. So here's a little State of the KH Union to let you know what's new on the site:

We've updated the Increases page (http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/increases). There are some new videos, and the layout is more reliable (the callouts now point to the correct examples). We're hoping to do the same for the Decreases (http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/decreases) page soon.

We have a new Getting Started (http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/learn-to-knit) page. Amy worked very hard to write up new content to address some of the common questions new knitters might have.

We have 3 new videos on Gauge! Hooray! They are on the Getting Started (http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/learn-to-knit) page.

We have a new video on slipping a stitch: p-wise vs. k-wise. It's on the Knitting Tips (http://www.knittinghelp.com/videos/knitting-tips) page.

We brought back our KnittingHelp.com shop (http://www.knittinghelp.com/shop). We had to close it when our daughter was born as we couldn't keep up with both. We now stock one of the largest collections of Knitting DVD (http://www.knittinghelp.com/shop/t/categories/knitting-cds-dvd) on the web, with titles from Lucy Neatby, Interweave, and Schoolhouse Press. Amy is again offering her very popular rainbow denise needles (http://www.knittinghelp.com/shop/t/categories/knitting-needles). If your looking for a knitting DVD or book, please consider purchasing from us. Purchasing from our store helps to support our work on KH, and it keeps me busy. I'm in charge of packing the orders each day. :happydance:

Not quite news, but in case you don't know KnittingHelp.com is on Twitter (http://twitter.com/knittinghelp), Facebook (http://facebook.com/knittinghelp), and Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/knittinghelp).

So that's it. We have more things in the works which we are excited about. But I have learned not to talk about things until after they go live. The more I talk them up, the longer it takes for them to go live!

Thanks everyone for being a part of our community!

Oh, happy birthday! It's funny to think this page is only 6 years old. I found it this spring when looking for English knitting terminology and got hooked. But to me the site was old as salt, since it was so big. That you made all this happen and so complete and everything in just that short amount of time! Congratulations on this!
I will check out the shop again, since I am looking for x-mas gifts to be shipped in and into the US. Maybe my mother in law will benefit!

Knitting Help really did help me get back into the craft. Without all the kind support, my closets would be empty of stash :teehee:

Thank you so much for all the hard work and dedication!

Dear Amy & Sheldon (and all you wonderful mods!)

This site has truly given me the gift of knitting knowledge which is more valuable than I can possibly articulate!

When I first found you about three years ago I was just getting back into knitting after 40+ years of crochet. I'd learned the basic knit and purl stitches again (and cast ons) from a small site somewhere on the web that was, fortunately, linked to KH. What a wonderful find!

Since then I've expanded my knitting know-how and enjoyed every minute of it, even the frustrating frog-heavy moments! Throughout this wonderful adventure I've never failed to find help and info on this site and in the forum.

You really have brought wonderful changes into my life and I'm sure into many other lives as well.

Happy, happy birthday and many more!

I doubt that I would have learned to knit had it not been for this site--thank you so much!

And I must say...our website is looking totally great! So new and fresh! Love it! Thanks!

And BTW, I am IN LOVE with our new shopping aisle!!!

Can we carry the larger size Della-Q silk bag? The one with more rigid sides...it stands up on its own. Love it! Have two. Need more.

Thanks for asking! We are actually selling what's left of our inventory of the silk taffeta bags and probably won't continue to offer them once they are gone. If we do get more at some point, I will certainly let you know.

Let me add my congratulations! This site has been wonderful as a reference and as an inspiration to me. only about 30 minutes ago, a friend called me and asked if I would teach her grandson the basics of knitting when he came home from college at Thanksgiving. I told her sure, but he could get started on knittinghelp.com. It's my go-to place when I have questions about techniques. I have referred to the videos MANY times. Thanks so much!

I know these wishes are late, but Happy Anniversary, Knittinghelp! Your website has been so helpful. This may sound weird, but you are like my grandmother, but on-line. My grandmother taught me to knit and crochet and I am 3000 miles away from her and she doesn't do the internet thing. Your site has been the next best thing to her for knitting advice. And I love that! Thanks for your advice and for your videos and your patterns!

Thank you so much Sheldon and Amy for all of your hard work on KH! I started knitting about the same time as when you started the site here . With your help and this site I taught myself how to knit the basics . I remember I didn't want to look stupid going to my knitting classes so I would do my homework checking out your site before I went to class. My knitting instructor got me started on my first pair of socks and by the time I got home I forgot what it was she had said ( I must have tip my head to far to the right and all the knitting instructions fell out) So I would come here and watch the turning of the heel , over and over until I got it. Then I could finish my knitting homework and go back to my knitting classes head held high!

This site has taught me so much about knitting and I am so grateful for it being here.

When I posted 'Need help with top down raglan baby sweater' Jan and Suzeeq jumped in and guided me through my project from being to end and without their help I may have never of finished my very first baby sweater. :muah:

I love this site and recommend it to every knitter I come across.

Thanks so much for being here!
