There was a cake of coarse thick wool in a box of unwanted wool that someone from this site sent to me in exchange for some other yarn that I had. I've never seen such wool. I'm guessing that it was 100% wool. It did look though like hair of some sort possibly blended with wool.

However, I made it into clogs. During the washing they looked very hairy. They felted very well and are thick and warm.

Nice! I have the pattern, but haven't made it yet.

Very neat! They definitely look cozy. :yay:

Was it a difficult pattern to follow? Something small like that might be a good first felting project ....

Hi!
I just made my first felted slippers myself.
And I really like your shoes. I especially like the pattern. You do not have a pattern link for me, do you? I need to make a few x-mas gifts!

I had no trouble with the pattern. Just be sure to read through it two or three times to be sure you understand how it is made before you proceed. My yarn was bulky so I only carried one strand instead of two together like the pattern called for.

Oh I just love them to pieces! Ya know...you gave me an idea what to do with some wool (yards and yards on a cone) that I bought on Ebay before I knew better! FELTED CLOGS!

Thanks for posting your clogs! They really look wonderful!

Thank you Artlady. The yarn came with no information but I could tell it was a nutural fiber. In the wash the fiber was very long and hairy. They felted very nicely though.

I felted them to fit my feet then put them through the rinse and spin. They were then just short of my back heel and I wasn't able to pull them back into place. If i make more I'll be sure to remember to stop felting just before they reach the correct length.

That's doesn't matter though. They were perfect for my daughter. Now with the wool socks I made for her and wearing these too, her feet should never be cold.

The pattern states to double strand but this was thick enough that I didn't need to.
