I made this as a practise hat with some yarn I had on hand. The yarn was acrylic and not at all soft but the hat came out quite well and I love wearing it especially when the wind is up. It covers my ears nicely.
It kind of looks like a mob cap from the old days.
No pattern... just started in the middle of the cap and worked my way out and down... LOL!

I don't see it as a mobster hat! I see it as the little cap that the newspaper boys wore in the old days!
