The pattern says to match left front, reversing shapings. What does this mean....do I still do the decreases on the knit side or do they mean to do them on the purl side and do I do them on the start side or the end side? This is a Rowan pattern (free download) named Haven.

Thanks

Generally, you can do them on the purl side. If you have to bind off any stitches, though, they have to be done at the beginning of the row.

If you'd rather do them on the knit side, look at your piece and think of your decreases as being on the neck edge or the sleeve edge.

If you did a k2tog on one side, and you decide to do the decreases on the knit side, do a ssk so the decreases will match up.

Is that clear enough?

You do them at the other edge on the other front. So if you BO on the RS for the first one, BO on the WS for the other. Decs can all be done on the RS rows, but you would do them at the end of a row instead of at the beginning of it.
