I am new to knitting and I am making a baby wash cloth with a sailboat on it. The instructions state to do some directions on all even rows, all wrong side rows. My stitches do not match. Some of the design is on the right and some on the left. Help!!!!

It depends on the pattern directions but often in stockinette, the right side is the knit or front side and also the odd numbered rows (so the wrong side is the purl or back side and the even numbered rows).

I think I know what your problem is. I've done that pattern. Tell me if it's the Melissa Bergland Burnham one. And when you mention left and right do you really mean right side/wrong side - aka front and back?

Tell me what row you're working. Then I'll know for sure how to help. It's probably just a simple case of marking your right side so you don't put sts. on the incorrect side. Easy - peasy. Talk to me.
