I saw this very cute lamb pattern and thought it would be simple to knit. Once I printed it out, I read over the pattern and had no idea what it's talking about. When does the "double knitting" start? I understand the first leg and then starting the 2nd leg, but it says to continue knitting across both legs to make BODY, then to "continue doubleknitting across"....when did it turn to double knitting? I don't think I understand any of the rest of the pattern. Why 2 circular needles?

Apparently the entire thing is worked in double knitting.
Lambie Peeps are knit using the double knitting
technique described here:
Their legs, body, and arms are doubleknit insideout
in one piece on one circular needle (or two
straight needles), then turned right side out and
the head is knit in the round. There are no
The two circulars are used to knit the small diameter in the round--she does mention using dpns if you prefer, but wrote the pattern for the two circs.
It seems like a lot of work for a little lamb, though, for a little lamb. Very cute, though.

Thanks Jan, I still don't get it, and her link doesn't work for that video, so I guess I'll have to pass on it. Such a cute little lamb though, I hate not to be able to figure it out.

The lamb is very cute. If you want a link to double knitting, try the Free Videos tab at the top of this page and look under Advanced Techniques. The demo is for two color double kntting but the basic technique is the same.

Try some of these animals. Maybe you'll find an easier one:
