I made this hat about a year and a half ago. I then went on to make a coffee cup cozy out of the pattern stitch as well. Next up I promptly lost the pattern for the hat.

Here's what I know, it is an 8 pattern stitch with I think an 8 row repeat. I can't remember though what to do when I make the long horizontal stitches. I vaguely remember something about slipping 4 stitches, wrapping the yarn around twice and then slipping the stitches back to the other needle.

I am trying to give as much detail about what I remember of the pattern in the hopes that someone will recognize it and have a link to it. I don't think it was a pattern that I had to pay for...at least I hope it wasn't.

I know that there is one step that I am missing and I can tell that by looking at the interior of the hat. You can clearly see a row of purl stitches. My mind is having a hard time though of translating that one missed row.

TIA for any advice or links.

I can't believe that I found it searching all the hat patterns on Ravelry! I didn't even use any descriptive words like honeycomb or rib knit pattern. LOL

Here is the link (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/crossroads-english-version-of-le-carrefour) in case anyone else is interested in making it.

That's cool you found it. It's a great looking hat.
