I finally decided to try mittens, and so far so good! I like the yarn I'm using for this first pair, but I already bought something else to make myself a set of at least mittens and a scarf, probably a hat, too.

For the mittens, I'm using a Lion Brand pattern (http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/80672AD.html?noImages=).

They look great! I love the color. I am also knitting mittens but I am knitting them in the round using the magic loop method.
