Hi! I'm looking for a similar pattern to a hood/hat I saw on tumblr. http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/archaical?before=1344664414 it's partway down the page, grey and blue Cheshire Cat hood. The woman who made it doesn't have a pattern for the public, and I'm really interested in making something similar.

Any help would be appreciated!

It looks like you'd just sew a seam down the back of your knit scarf. If you're not on Ravelry (I assume you knit) then you should join and check there. There are several free hooded scarves that you could make and then make ears to sew on top. I don't know what the heck is going on with those tails onthe ends.

It does look like the edging is a very wide ribbing--maybe 4x4 or even 6x6--something like that. Then you'd continue with the hood and instead of seaming it up the back via knit stitches, you'd lace it up. And use really large yarn--like extra bulky, too.

Hi! I was looking for a pattern somewhere, anywhere for this as well as I have a friend who just asked me to make one for her (and after seeing it, I really want one myself >.>). At one point, many many moons ago, she responded to a comment on her Deviantart account in regards to a pattern! So, I have the hood/scarf pattern.....but she keeps the ears a secret ^.^ but I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to find a pattern and whip up some ears! Anyways! Here is the pattern that I found:

"I only sell locally. I wrote up a simple pattern for it.
51 stitches on 15.0 mm needles, first 5 rows k3 p3, then alternating knitting a row and purling a row, so you have 30 rows all together and the cast off is where you corset it together, then knit 2 mini-scarfs 5 stitches 30 rows down but near the end you k2tog k1 k2tog then k3tog and tie off for the tapered end. weave the non-tapered end onto the bottom side of the brim and your done!"
