OMG, I found a knitting emoticon!
xxx

If anyone ever finds a guy-friendly one like this, let me know! This one's got a bow in her hair. Maybe someone clever knows how to edit out the bow for a second icon? That would be too cute. Wouldn't it be cool if the boy one had a baseball cap or something? :)

:)

Oops, I think I might have broken one or two of the old emoticons. If anyone finds that one of their emoticons they used in an old post isn't working, let me know the post, and what emoticon it was. It will show some text in it's place. I just need to know what text went with that emoticon, and can easily fix it if I broke one. Thanks!

Oops! Sorry ekgheiy! I'll put him back right now. Here he is!

I had to edit existing emoticons to insert the new ones in the main viewing area of the post. I wasn't very systematic about reinserting the old ones!

Oops I just realized I did away with the wicked devil faces....Okay, they're back.

:?? Let me know if you find any broken emoticons, folks! Thanks!

Happenin might still be working on it, so I won't add it quite yet. Here's what it looks like so far...

hmmmm -- to me this doesn't look like a bow in her hair -- but like the big clown hair -- like Krusty the clown:

xxx --> http://www.jahozafat.com/images/Simpsons/krusty.gif

doncha think?

amy

LOL, Jessica! I totally see what your saying, especially with the picture of Krusty right there. But it's still hard to really "see" it as hair on the knitter. Thank goodness, because I like seeing it as a bow! ;)

Hey, everyone, I'm working on my own emoticon!! :cheering: Happenin has inspired me, with her brave foray into the world of editing/creating an animated gif! I had DH teach me how to edit an animated gif, to make my own emoticon! It actually wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be, I'm using Fireworks, which is a good program for it.

It's an emoticon for FROGGING! I just thought: we NEED an emoticon for frogging. It was my inspiration for doing an emoticon. ...It's almost done!!

(...to be continued. Oh, how I love leaving you all in suspense.... *wicked laugh*.)

Drumroll please....

The Frogging emoticon!...

:frog:

Not bad for a beginner, eh Happenin?!
DH says emoticons are my new obsession. I think he's partially right. Obsessed enough to make my own emoticon! But I think I'll hang the hat up for a while and get back to shooting. (I could loose a week playing with this stuff. FUN!!!) te-he.

BTW, I used Happenin's blue yarn, bow-less alteration of the knitter as the base.

EXCELLENT!!! Although, I hope I don't have to use it often ;)

Happenin has done it!!!!! Believe me, it's not easy to make a baseball cap that looks like a baseball cap, at that particular angle, and so tiny. But she did it beautifully!!! Thank you Happenin!.... :cheering: :cheering: :cheering:

Here it is, everyone! A knitting emoticon for the guys!!!!! :guyknitting:

And, for good measure, an all-purpose one for anyone...
:X:

Thanks Happenin!

I think I'll leave the girl-bow one as the one that's the quick-click one, just because I'm guessing it'll be most popular. ? If you want a shortcut, you can type in the code that comes up when you click any emoticon. I've tried to keep the code short and straightforward. Think of XX as female chromosomes, and XY as male. And just plain X as crossed knitting needles.

Okay, I admit it, I'm addicted to these emoticons. I have to drag myself away from the computer before I start adding hair-do's to these cute little knitters!!! (Tempting, so tempting....)

Don't give up the emoticon obsession yet, Amy!
Did you notice the poor knitters obviously don't know how to make a center pull ball? :knitting:
Perhaps they should each be told to view your instructions under Basic Techniques! ;)

Right click and 'save as' in a new file called 'emoticons'. I have been collecting some for years. Forget to use them, so will add a few now.

I use this cat hissing one when discussing cats, of which I have three.. http://www.soapmaker.ca/SoapPics/cathissing.gif

Blabbermouth makes me giggle http://www.soapmaker.ca/SoapPics/blabbermouth.gif When I go to knitting group on Friday mornings, if I allow blabbermouth out, I make more mistakes.

and I like bunnydance when things are going right.

Sometimes I put several in a row:

and I just love this little duck, not sure why.

If they aren't already here you can just drag them from one tab to the next at least if Firefox.

http://bestsmileys.com/butterfly/1.gif This one is from http://bestsmileys.com/pageindex.htm

http://www.smilieland.com/graphics/biene16.gif This one - http://www.smilieland.com/startsmilieland.htm

Not all can do that, but many can.

I have done what you do to Jan:wink: but have never been able to get them on here from a folder before:shrug: So was wondering how she does it.I can do it with manage attachments, but that is the only why I know to get them from a folder.
