Has anyone taken a look at this (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0970886977/ref=wl_it_dp/103-4735326-2911025?%5Fencoding=UTF8&coliid=I1W5VL14BE6EML&v=glance&colid=1E6LWXRXWBU6D) book? I'm very interested in it and it's sequel (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0970886985/ref=pd_bxgy_text_1/103-4735326-2911025?v=glance&s=books&st=*). I just don't want to shell out the $$ unless I know it's going to be worth it, and my library doesn't have either of them.

Thanks!

request your library to order it. That's what I did.

Cat's website (http://catbordhi.com/) has good previews of the patterns in her books.

I haven't seen those books, but they look very cool. I'm going to check with my library. I ususally find stuff like that on half.com but they didn't have either one right now.

Oh, goodness, you guys revived an old post of mine! :-)

Since I posted this, I convinced our library to buy both this book & The Second Treasury of Magical Knitting. I like the 2nd one better. It's full of felted bowls & such. The first one was OK, but it wasn't nearly as exciting as the 2nd one. Some of her stuff is just plain wacky -- like the tentacle bag and jester hat. She definitely has some challenging items, though.

Wacky...yet creative. Not sure I would necessarily make any of them, fun to look though.

Exactly ... but I do like some of the felted bowls. They would make a nice, decorative conversation piece!
