Anyone know of knitting circles in NYC (other than belonging to yarn shops where you have to buy something every time you ask question)? Looking for a little community -- I'm a new knitter.

Thanks :??

I think most large cities have a group called "Stitch and Bitch" and I am sure NYC is no exception. You might try groups.yahoo.com or meetup.com and search for your area. I don't think you'll have trouble finding one!

Annette, I've been looking too, I live in NY. Yeah, in the yarn shops you gotta buy their yarn to sit there I guess.

I read a couple months ago about a group that meets at Starbuck's on Broadway & 86th on Wednesday nights 7 - 9. I can't remember where I read that, maybe Craig's List. I'll look around and see if I can find it again.

Stitch n'Bitch used to have a group downtown, lower east side.
So, she says in her first book.

Keep us posted if you would!

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LICknit/ meets every Tuesday at a Long Island City cafe. There are new knitters (like me) and some very experienced knitters. They're also listed on meetup.com.

Kemp is right, you won't have any trouble finding a group at meetup or yahoo.
