I love to browse ebay for all kinds of knitting stuff (DH's pretty good at letting me use the paypal acct.) and when I was browsing the cashmere yarns (never actually bought any ) the other day I took a turn to the sweaters. There's some lovely stuff there... But I came across this one sweater in particular and I just fell in  with it. and since there is NO WAY i'm gonna even attempt knitting all those chains (Not just yet at least...), I thought i'd buy it instead and save me a big fat headache and mess. Now if only it fits when it gets here (They only had a size L) i'll be just as happy as if i made it myself! Well almost...

That's a great looking sweater! If it's too big you can turn around and sell it! (or shrink it!)

Ever since I starting knitting I have LESS guilt about buying sweaters! I keep thinking Huh only $60... damn the yarn alone would cost me $60...plus a good 5 months of time (hey I am slow)

Or frog it for the yarn! Nothing wrong with *buying* a great sweater. But... don't be intimidated by knitting cables. They're so much easier than they look!! :)

Ya know Victoise, shrinking it if it's too big didn't even cross my mind! What a good idea. :figureditout: Thanks!

Nuno I know what you mean, since i began knitting in Jan. I had NO idea what a sweaters true worth was but since seeing the prices of some yarns and all that making one entails yes, I think I gotta a steal. :happydance:

Silver, I thought about froggin yarn from a sweater. I keep thinking I should go to the thriftshop to find one but just haven't gotten around to it. I'm working on a cashmere/cotton blend (supposed to be easy)ribbed sweater right now and it's going kinda s l o w so i'll see about trying some chains lateron down the road. A gal in my knitting circle is working on a beautiful chained sweater dress :drooling: and she said it wasn't that bad either.
