hey Has anyone ever knitted a baby sling if so how did you do it??
Someone asked this question before. Can the mods find the answer? Possibly in Pattern Central. I'm so sorry, I don't have time to look for it today (or tomorrow). I don't think the answer was very satisfactory, anyway. There are ones you can buy already made, but they're horribly expensive. Good luck!

This thread (http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1360&highlight=baby+sling) has a little info. I'm sorry I can't find anymore. :(

This site has a ton of great info: http://www.mamatoto.org/
You can make your own sling so easily from a long piece of fabric...a friend of mine got hers on the bargain table at JoAnn for a few dollars. The site has tons of instructions on how to wear them at different ages, as well as good safety information. All the baby-wearers I know speak very highly of it! :D

Im not sure if you're going to find a knit pattern...
Even Bev stuck THIS SEWED PATTERN (http://www.ida.net/users/stace/sling.html) in the middle of all of her knit baby patterns.
Here's a crochet pattern (http://kanggah.com/cheap/sling.html)
Here's another. (http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/index.html?Baby/crafts.html)
I found those HERE. (http://www.thebabywearer.com/lists/Sewing.htm) Maybe some of their links might be useful?
I wonder if you could translate one of those patterns for knitting....maybe even knit it HUGE and felt it for additional strength??

i thought of felting it to only problem with that is that wool is soitchy. or i guess i could line it. but i bought some cute yarn today. it is LuLu by Bernat. it is soooo soft. kind of pricey but my baby is worth it. i'm going to swatch it with a bunch of needles to see which one is the strongest. but thanks for that links i'm going to check them out right now! :happydance:
