That has Red Heart for $.99 and others for dirt cheap (I think you have to order a minimum of $30 worth) I thought I had it bookmarked but alas... I do not.

I was bummed that they didn't have it. There are two sweaters that I want to make. Cervinia Oslo (http://www.pagelinx.com/cgi-shopper/search.cgi/smileysyarns/ezshopper?user_id=680&1_option=3&1=cerviniaoslo&database=dbase1.exm&template=template1.htm&output_number=100) could be a nice substitute though. Anyone ever use it before? Or perhaps more importantly...has anyone any comments on their shopping experience at Smiley's Yarns?

knitting warehouse has woolease thick and quick and they are really cheap.. with flat rate shipping. I've ordered from them a few times now and they ship REALLY fast.. got my stuff in less than a week.

You have to look under their wool ease link and the thick and quick is all the way at the bottom.

Or better yet ... when you order in bulk like this, are you going to get the same dye lot of d-lotted yarns??

I've ordered from Smileys several times and they're good, and fast. The Sorrento acrylic they have is kind of nice. I bought some Oslo from them, but I'm not crazy about it. I'll have to play with it a bit. My only gripe is that they don't have the full range of colors for the yarns they do have.

Knitting warehouse is good, too, but you have to order a whole bag, don't you?

It's not a "novelty" yarn is it?? It looks to me like it's about as thick as Wool Ease Thick & Quick (maybe a hair less dense though). Fill me in ... what are your thoughts?? Give a gal some feedback

It kind of reminds me of unspun yarn wrapped lightly in thin white thread. The dark strands through it remind me of the stuff you clean out of shrimp. That just occured to me--maybe its why I don't find it appealing. The thickness varies, which I didn't realize when I bought it.

The only thing that's been knitted with it was done by Jacob, and he's 7. I was thinking that since is 50% wool and I think the 50% acrylic is the wrapping, I might try to knit a swatch when I have time (that's looking like 2007) and see if it will felt.

Its definitely less dense than Wool Ease, and with the variation in thickness, it really isn't comparable.

So there's the scoop. ;)

I ordered 20 pair of size 10 bamboo needles from Smiley's for my Kids Knit group. They are only $1.99 per pair. They needed a little sanding and smoothing .... but I love them and ordered some other sizes for myself. They are 12" long and great for dishcloths, scarves, etc. I also bought several differnt kinds of yarn. Great prices, and quick shipping.

nope.. it's just like any other online knitting store. You order however many skeins you want. They don't sell stuff in bulk. I've purchased everything from 2 skeins up to 6 skeins and I also got my Boye set there for $47 dollars. They rule!!! :happydance: :happydance: :happydance:

That's right, I was thinking of www.discountyarnsale.com They only sell in bags but you get 10% off if I remember correctly.
