A bootie or some kind of sock made from a bulky yarn that would be very quick...for an adult??? Need to have it done by Friday morning if I'm going to do it! Any ideas about how "quick" it would be??? Oh, and for a man so that cute pocket book slipper won't work :(

I'm not quite sure what you have in mind, but there are some thick slipper type socks among these.

Thanks for the links. I had too much to do between yesterday and tomorrow though to get them done. Should've thought of this last week.

I could make them for "next time" but hopefully there wont be a next time!

Having been in the hospital about 2 1/2 gazillion times; having comfy slippers at home for recovery would be very, very nice, too....as would a stack of rented movies; magazines; a book; crossword puzzle...depending, of course upon his likes. Oh, and if he has to stay in bed for a while....cushy very soft pillow & supper soft case is worth a gazillion $....Just a few recommendations since you don't have slipper knitting time ;)

Thanks for all the tips, Rebecca. For at home, he has has Fiber Trends slippers :)

Unfortunately, has has been in quite a few times too so we are starting to get the hang of it. I need to get something cast on for kniting in the hospital tomorrow! Right after I finish up painting the front door fram while the doggies are away at the "spa" (kennel) :)

Having something to knit while in the hospital is a necessity. I wouldn't be able to visit for more than 20 minutes without it. As long as I can knit, I can sit. Hey--a new saying!

I'm with ya now, honey...you need something to do while waiting! I am with you. Yes, waiting in a hospital is no fun, it's my assumption that you are waiting while a loved one has surgery...knitting is needed; perhaps something with lots of counting so that you will be very mentally occupied?! I'll be praying for you and whomever ;)

Thanks. Hopefully it'll all go smoothly.

It's my DH...and you were right the first time. He said something on wed. while I was knitting about "you should have knit me some socks for the hospital" so of course then a lightbulb went off...I really should do that. I did want to have them ready so he'd have them tomorrow. At any rate I need to cast on SOMETHING. The slippers would be as good as anything else. I'm so tired right now though and we have to be there at 5:30...UGH! So of course he had to work late too since he's not going to be in tomorrow :(
