What's your fav thing to knit?

I am finding myself really enjoying LACE. I suppose that might fit into the scarf category, but for myself, I make wraps (stoles, whatever).

CLOGS would be my second choice, of course!

I like everything--I don't think I'd knit it if I didn't get some level of enjoyment out of it, but sweaters are my favorites.

Definately socks!

Well, i don't have a lot of knitting experience so i haven't made a lot of things that are listed, but i really enjoy making stuff for all the babies my friends are cranking out. I dunno, i like to see the end product and i like knowing it's something handmade that will be passed down or kept (hopefully).

When I first got serious about knitting, I knitted lace, and I still enjoy it greatly! :)

My roommate would be with you on that one. I just don't have the patience for much bigger than a hat.

SWEATERS! No, wait...SOCKS!...but I also like LACE!...or cute BAGS!...or...EVERYTHING :cheering:

I don't really have a favourit at the moment. If I had the time(and yarn) I would knit everthing simultaneously.

11-07-2005, 12:14 PM
hehehe javede!

I better get moving on socks since the poll states that lots of you like to do them - I'm still a little afeared of them!

You're not the only one Hildie. Bags are my favorite. :D

I kinda feel like that guy in MOnty Python

"what is your favorite color?"

"Blue, no wait, red....AAAAAHHHHH!"
gets tossed of the bridge.

Monty Python meets KH

knitter steps up to a bridge.

"Waht is your favorite thing to knit?"

"Socks,no wait lace no wait.........AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" banned from LYS for a month.

for me, it's a toss up between hats and purses

11-07-2005, 02:25 PM
feministmama... I'm with you. I voted for "other" but it should have said EVERYTHING!

11-11-2005, 03:45 PM
The only thing I've made so far is an afghan. (Learn to Knit Afghan by Barbara Walker). I'm done with the knitting but still have to block it and put it together. I am really anxious knit something smaller.... either a hat or socks will be next. I think I might even break my own rule about not starting a new project until the current one is finished. I guess I wouldn't really be cheating ... it's OK to start knitting something else while I wait for the blocked pieces to dry, right?

11-11-2005, 09:08 PM
Of course you can start something new while the first piece is drying! Once it's off the needles it's done!

I voted for purses since I've done a few of them and really enjoyed each one. I think socks are a close second, but if 'felted things' was a choice, it would have been mine!

I love to see the RIBBING get longer, and then I love to watch the turning of the HEEL! Next the glory of theGUSSET and the length of the foot itself to where it ends in the magnificence of the TOE in the Kitchener Stitch!! :D

uh, yeah...I guess i'd have to say SOCKS!
