I search in every boutique of my area ( Montreal ) to find the book Mittens and Gloves published by Vogue but it is not available. I would like to see the patterns inside of the book before I decide to puchase and place an order on the web.
If anyone of you has this book is it possible to insert photos on the forum so I can see pictures of the patterns ? I am interested by mittains.

Links of blogs will also be appreciated.

Thank you for taking time to respond.

Hello fellow Montreal knitter! :waving:

Mmh, mittens... I need some of those now that it's getting chilly ;)

Say...could you maybe tell me of some nice yarns stores in Montreal? I'm getting my yarn from Zellers... Yeah, I want to change that >_<

Do you have libraries nearby? I usually look there before buying to make sure there are patterns that I like.

Hello, Michelle,

I realize it's been four years since this last post, but I've been searching the Internet for reviews of yarn shops in Montreal. I've read several good reviews about Mouline' yarns. I was wondering if you have ever been to Ariadne Knits 3837 Rue St Jacques Ouest? I'll be doing a brief visit to Montreal in October attending a conference at the Palais des Congres, and I was thinking about taking the metro to these 2 yarn shops (which seem to be very close to each other).

I'm not Michelle, but I have been to both those shops and I recommend them both (though they are the only two yarn shops I've ever been to, so take that with a grain of salt!). Mouliné has a lot more yarn, but Ariadne has a nice feel and the people there are really friendly and helpful. They have a nice area to sit and knit and even the patrons are helpful--one showed me how to use the swift and ball winder.

Hope you enjoy the city during your visit!

That many yarn stores makes me wonder if I haven't found my next vacation destination!!!!

Thank you very much, BellyBean! I do get that 'nice feel' from Ariadne's Web site (www.ariadneknits.com). They have pictures online of their yarn and they're simply beautiful! And it's good to know that you can sit and knit ....hopefully without a charge! :o)

I visited Montreal for the first time in 1996 and I loved it!! Thus the reason why I jumped at the chance to attend this conference, so that I could visit again! Can't wait! I'll be staying in Vieux Montreal and I'm already refreshing my travel French!
