Got a ?...

I was wondering what the difference is between a ball winder and a swift? I just want to have the end result be a wound up ball of yarn. Looks like they do the same thing...So which is better/easier to use?? Anyone have 1 or the other or both?

Thanks!

actually you use them both together. a swift holds the yarn while you use the winder. if you are winding regular skeins you don't need a swift but if you are winding hanks you need something to actually hold the yarn.

Ok, I see...Thanks! I currently have been only using skeins. So maybe I'll go with the ball winder for now...then later get the swift.
