Hi Everyone! I posted awhile ago asking how to use this beautiful Plymouth Outback Mohair yarn that I had puchased to make a scarf for my MIL. Thank you so much to Ingrid, KellyK and brendajos for helping me, or else I would've ended up with a terrible mess and a lot of unusable yarn! Anyway, I just wanted to show you that I did finish the scarf -- and in time for Christmas, too! I'm just old-school -- I haven't gotten a digital camera yet, so I had to develop my film and scan my picture before I could show you -- and with a 2 year old and being 8 months pregnant with #2, that took longer than you might imagine!! Here is the scarf that I made for my MIL, and a closeup of the pattern. It's a traveling vine pattern from my Knit Scarves! book. I'm really pleased with how it turned out -- especially since it was my first time using a natural fiber (or actually any yarn that was more than $3 - $4 a skein) and my first attempt at blocking. My MIL seemed pretty pleased with it, too...

Very pretty! I would never have thought to do that pattern with mohair, but it looks lovely!

Here's another scarf that was a Christmas present. This was for my best friend and was just as colorful and happy as she is! I made this from Lion Brand Boucle in Rose and Fun Fur in Copacabana. It was okay to work with, but man, was I glad when it was done!!

Well, actually, I can't take credit for the choice of mohair -- it's what the pattern called for! I know that the fuzziness kind of obscured the pattern, but I still thought that it looked neat!

They're both great! The first is my favorite though. I love that pattern.

The scarves look great!! Did you pair the mohair with another yarn in the first scarf?? I have a bunch of outback mohair left over from another project, and haven't figured out what to do with it yet. The scarf is beautiful!

Everything looks good Josie!!! I know you say you are old school, but here is a little something to help you out. The next time you get your film developed, get prints and a Photo CD. Then you will be able to eliminate the scanning process and can upload the pics right from the CD. It's not that expensive and is also another way to have a backup of your prints :happydance:

I didn't pair the mohair with anything -- it was just a thicker mohair. My LYS said that I could double a thinner mohair, but I thought that would be too difficult for me to do with the pattern!
