I am looking for some opinions. I am working on (okay I have to cast on still but it is only Monday! :D ) this sweater (http://glampyreknits.tripod.com/glampyrephotos/id34.html) It is a little plain for me so i was thinking of adding a cable around the shoulders kind of like the border in this hat. (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter03/PATTcoronet.html) What do you think? Am I trying to take on too much (basically is it really difficult to do). Is it possible to add a cable like that?
Then again I am also thinking that k1 p1 ribbing would look good up top as well since I am using a verigated yarn. :thinking:

I think if you were to add a cable, it would have to be sewn on and might look a little wonky. :??

If it was a top-down raglan, which I'm sure would be easy to find, you could make the cable part and then pick up the stitches and knit down from it.
