I used the Silver tutorial online sock class and it really was a cinch once I got the hang of the double points and got through the ribbing I practiced on some cheap acrylic yarn I had laying around so I am not going to complete the pair because I won't wear them but I just got back from the yarn shop down the street and they have tons of sock yarn I am gonna buy some next week and go crazy!! :XX:

Butterfly my advice to you is don't be intimidated and read and follow the directions one at a time and don't even look at what comes next untill it is time.

Since socks are always being eaten by the washer I think I will make three socks when I get brave enough to start socking it to ME. :rofling:
Your sock is great! I am impressed. I will check out the Silver class too.
Let's hear it for socks. I like Knee Length socks so legs don't show between pant leg and shoe! Do you just keep going and how do you make increases for calves? Measure? Duh? Does the class teach that too? Thanks, Lynn

So is knitting socks some sort of rite of passage thingy?
I have printed out the instructions, thank you very much...and I will accept the challenge as soon as I finish the two projects I am currently working on (a fun scarf and a sweater for my granddaughter that she is going to grow out of if I don't get back to it soon). But I have to say it does look comp..lee..cated...and HARD! But I do want to be in the club so I hope I will get points merely for TRYING whether I complete a sock or my three needed sox or not. And the yarn that you used that turned out a perfect design is WHAT???? HOW IT DO THAT????

Way to go on the socks.

I, too, have just stitched my first socks, and several more pair in quick succession! They are so quick, so fun and so addictive. LOL

This is only my second post, after introducing myself in the proper thread. I came directly here because of my newest projects. Although I've been knitting for over 30 years, I've only now attempted socks.
