This was too much work, too thin needles (2 mm) and to thin yarn (fingering/sock weight).. and I got very angry during the knitting.
But the result is ok!

:cheering: Perfect! Wonderful! You should be very proud of yourself.

Now you need to tie a string from one to the other to run through coat sleeves so one doesn't get lost. :rofling:

I feel so ashamed now for not trying to finish my son's gloves (granted they are gloves, not mittens). Those mitts are absolutely STELLAR!!!!! :inlove:

Is there a matching hat to go with it? I think my dh would like something like that as a matching set.

beldaraan
01-17-2006, 03:46 AM
Okay, I just showed these to dh, and he said he would absolutely wear them and thought that a matching hat would look great with them. So, I dare ask you now, "where's the pattern for these babies?"

The type of "hat" that I'm thinking would look great with these would be a chullo (http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall02/PATTvinterlue.html).

  Those mittens are great!! I am just attempting my first "color work" on a pair of socks -- same colors as your mittens, actually :D . Did you have any problems carrying your yarn along the inside of the mittens? I'm worried that my sock may have some too tight strands on the inside when they get off the DPNS...oh well -- it is a learning project!

Hi, yes, I had problems!!!
Some places the white thread had to wait 28 stitches!!!! No good!!
Quite tight strands on the inside. But during knitting the first mitten, I learned to drag the strandings to be long enough. I knit continental, both threads on the same finger, and I put the rigth finger back to make it long enough.
And the second mitten is much more beautiful than the first.

Hi - by EZ, I was referring to" Elizabeth Zimmerman"... ;)

Thank you! I am not familiar with the codes you use in your knitting language yet! I have much to learn. :-)
Some times you talk about LYS, hihi, and that means Light in Norwegian!!

BUT I am learning!
Again, thank you!

The mittens are beautiful!! I love moose too!! I lived in Alaska for 14 yrs. and love the moose..they use to bed down in our back yard.

Where ever did you find that mitten pattern??

Virtuella
02-12-2006, 11:42 AM
I have bougth the pattern in a patternbook from Rauma.
I have tried to find it in your language, but I am so sorry, I only have the pattern in Norwegian and Sweedish.

http://www.helylle.se/selbu.html

Maybe you could write them and ask for the pattern in english?? Maybe they translate it? I dont know.
