Hey, that is cute! I like the color, too. I love the subtle color variations in Araucania. I just bought a skein in a light green, and it's just waiting for me to think of a project.

I love love love it!!! I am a new knitter (just finished my 3rd class) and I would like my next project to be a felted bag. Can you tell me if that pattern is easy and good for a beginner? and where you found the pattern. Thank you and way to go on the great!!! bag...

Thanks everyone for all the compliments! I really was giddy last night when looking at it all finished and everything....I want to make MORE! LOL

I really thought this was a very easy pattern...as a pretty new knitter myself I thought it was fairly simple. I really like that the handles are integrated in the bag.

Here is the FREE pattern (http://users.easystreet.com/shawna/knitblog/Buttonholebag.pdf#search='The%20Buttonhole%20Bag')

The variations you could do here are amazing just by switching your yarn colors.

I am using Nature's wool in my socks and in a similar purple shade. So pretty ! (this is the socks where Cooper de-knitted it for me last night....)

How sturdy are these bags? Do you use it like a purse? I've wanted to knit one but wasn't sure how sturdy they are.

Well I haven't actually USED it yet but I am making a wallet to match it and plan to use it very soon. I will take a pic with stuff in it and me holding it so you can see. :)

That's a beautiful bag!

To post the pics in the little boxes you have to just attach the photo where it says "add attachment" rather than using the img tags. ;)

I like it too...does it come in sizes? Am looking for a bag to make for my 17 month old granddaughter who likes to tote her belongings in a bag. today she packed all the jewerly I've made her (3 necklaces and two bracelets) in a plastic bag with handle and walks carrying it by the handle feeling very proud of herself. A little purple bag like yours would be very cute for her.

Be sure to show it again after you felt it. Thanks for sharing the pattern too. (Lynn) :XX: Oops looked again and realized the second photo is of it felted.

I am looking at the pattern and comparing it to your finished bag. Did you make yours smaller than the one in the pattern and would you mind sharing how many stitches you used if yours is indeed smaller? Your Reader's Digest size looks just right for my needs. Thanks, Lynn
