Update: I finally finished the mittens to match DD's hat.
Here is a hat I made for DD #1. It's the checks and charms hat from the Knitpicks website. I used the merino style yarn as recommended and just changed the colors. I am so thrilled with how it came out. I haven't bothered to block it yet, and even my gauge was accurate for a change! :D I plan to make the mittens next.
I also have the yarn ready to make the same set for DD #2, but she said she wants hers to be plain white :rollseyes: ...well at least it will be easy and brainless to knit.

Thanks for the compliments. It was fun to knit, and I think fair isle is becoming my favorite kind of knitting. I'm working on the mittens now. I also finished DD #2's hat, but I won't bother to post it because she wanted plain white - it was quick and easy but a bit boring to knit. :rollseyes:
