Okay, so I have to wayside ALL my knitting for the next 7 days.

Why?

My birthday party is Saturday week and I have to have a shrug knitted by then...

Why?

Because all I could find to go with my skirt was a camisole, and I DON'T bare arms in public...

So I have 6 balls of lovely 4 ply Merino in a very pretty soft green, I am going to double strand it (I need it to knit up pretty fast, obviously).

Use 5mm needles for the cuff ribbing, then 8mm for the drop stitch pattern (http://www.knittingonthenet.com/patterns/swedropshrug.htm).

Wish me luck!

That's very pretty and should go quickly. I had to read your post to see what could be done with a shrug in an emergency, though. :rofling:

Have a wonderful birthday!!

I finished it saturday morning at 7:30am... the blocked it with a steam iron.

It still came out a LOT larger than anticipated .. LMAO..

I think it will become my 'around the house' throw on.. :D

I need to re-write the pattern for big peoples :D

I will post a photo when I get one back from the party :D
