This is the Hourglass Sweater from Last Minute Knitted Gifts. I used 9 balls of Debbie Bliss Cathay (gorgeous yarn!) and made the smallest size. It's a little tight, but I think that's due to the gauge being a teeny bit off.

I  it! I think I'll wear it tomorrow. ;)

Very nice! I don't think it looks even a little tight.

That's it! That's the last straw!
I MUST purchase some good yarn and make a sweater for myself. Knowing that other people can make such fabulous garments as yours is just too much to bear.

Thanks everyone! The tightness is just in the upper arms, otherwise it fits great.

I think a sweater like this is totally worth using nice yarn--the simple pattern shows it very well.

Mer,

It's *beautiful* ... even if, once again, your head has gone missing ;-)

Seriously, it's gorgeous ... It makes me even more anxious to make a garment for myself!!!

Yes, I know, no head. I'm feeling a bit sick and wasn't quite up to it. You must make a garment for yourself, Julie! You'll be making the Einstein coat, right? You can't always be an unselfish knitter. ;)

Mer,
left a message on your blog. It is stunning!!! & so are you. That Cathay is perfect for the hourglass--I think the drape of cathay brings out the lines of the sweater better than Cash Iroha.

I hope you have given yourself some well earned slaps on the back--way to go. :cheering: :notworthy: :notworthy: :balloons:

I created a link to your blog (from my blog) it took me ummm.....to much time to openly admit! so, I'll pop over for scotti's and hobooius tea (red tea) of Chai often.

congrats! * in honor of your FO you should checkout a blog called 42 cupcakes. (sorry I don't have a link)

:present: I also would like to send you a little gift for completing your sweater.
email --since I have a couple of things that you might like

I think you just wanted me to awaken the Mer's Haid song!!

For all of you musical theater fans (*cough* geeks *cough*) like me....to the tune of "Pore Jud is Daid" from Oklahoma (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/clipserve/B00005A7XB001011/0/104-8320339-1466340):

Mer has no haid
Pore Mer has no haid....
She lopped it off with'er pitcher takin' thing..
She finish't her purty sweater
aind she couldn't a knit it better
But-'er haid's gone now and wont grow back til Spring!

Your sweater is GORGEOUS, Mer! On your cute little frame, I think almost anything would be! ;)

Thanks for *that* note, Mer!! I got this book for Christmas, and I haven't had a chance to use it yet. Good to have the "heads up" on the errata!!
