Cuz i am near to causing physical pain to the guy who is across the cube wall from me. he has been blathering on all day on the phone trying to get a new truck. allllllllllllllllllllllllllll day! all day. seriously...ALL DAY!

and he isn't being quiet. The guy who sits across the room from him just asked me what kind of truck the guy is looking to buy. there is no way i should know how much this guy is putting down, what his payments are going to be, who he is getting his insurance with, etc etc etc.

and i shouldn't know that he is indignant about his interest rate....even though he was blabbing on about getting his water shut off from not being paid a few weeks ago!

The attorney general says it is only torture if it causes organ failure or death right? I think i can work in those guidelines.

Here's what you should do. Pick up your phone and call ME, and explain LOUDLY how you can't get any work done because the damn guy next to you is talking so FREAKING LOUDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!

and maybe he'll get the point.

He has two eyes. YOu have two knitting needles. Oh, are eyes organs? :D I'm so glad I work for myself. If the person in the next cubicle starts talking to loud I need to see a psychiatrist! :roflhard:

Next time it happens, talk about FEMALE problems! That'll shut him the he|| up! We have a gal over the wall from us that freaks out if she hears anyone's conversation, no matter how benign, but she'll call everyone in her family to talk about her new minivan and the fact that it replaces the one that was in an accident... then talk about the accident.
Freaks, all of 'em!

Isn't there a law that says when people are annoying, you are in fact allowed to kill them? I'm sure this must be the case in some states like Texas and California.

we have a guy who makes farting noises all day and it does drive us crazy. it has almost become a nervous tick though. he use to say "no!" all day long in the same voice our Operations Manager would use when he was just telling us NO (to whatever) because he didn't want to do something. he has moved on to the farting noise now....

Do these "noisy" guys actually get any work done or are they suddenly quiet when management is around?

Many of us use personal cd players, ipods, etc. to drown out the wackos that do nothing but blather all day or b!tch about stuff... but if, gawd forbid, your batteries wear out in the middle of the day, you then get to listedn to the ones that "try" to hum or sing to their music. Usually it's low, but still, they ain't no good at it! I'm no musical expert, but I could go mad sometimes from the monotone or usually off key moaning they do!

Ah, fond memories of the corporate world! There but for the grace of god go I.

I do think that talking loudly on the phone is a punishable offense in any office. As is slurping coffee, talking on speakerphone, talking on cell phones, having conversations that are too intimate where everyone has to hear them, and many other infractions.

Although, the coffee slurping one is punishable by death.

I had a manager (one of many, story for another time) that seemed to learn a bad habit from our previous manager (they were evil clones i'm sure). When making a call, the would press an open line on the phone thus making the whole section hear the dial tone out loud, then the beep beep beep of their dialing, then the ringing of the call, and finally the person's "Hello?". All BEFORE they even bothered to lift their arm to pick the receiver up to complete their call!!!
 Gawd people! I mean, how hard is it to do all that without making the rest of us hear it???? And these are the same Hagatha's that would berate everyone for having the gall to personally interact with other human beings during the day.

I actually saw something on MSNBC today about a $300 device that you can activate to play voices that mimic office chatter to mask your personal conversations. That would be fine, but in my case, I'd rather step out into the hall to make a personal call than sound like I have 25 people in my 5x5 cube. :roflhard:

That's another thing, we have stool pigeons that whine if they sniff out anyone making a personal call, and because some of the call center people don't use discretion when talking on their cells in the hall when potential corporate customers come to visit that the same stoolies like to narc on people talking in the halls. I say, just do it to the ones that like to talk about who they got lucky or drunk with.. oh oh, and the idiots that insist on talking in the bathrooms!!! Don't EVEN get me going on THAT!!!!

lol when i was managing a call center one of the girls in my office came in and said "i swear to god someone is in the bathroom using a vibrator!"

of course i laughed at her and said there was no way someone was THAT ballsy! a few weeks later someone else came in laughing saying that they heard the same thing. okay seriously....what in the world?

well i happened to be in the bathroom washing my hands a few days later and heard it myself and decided i was going to stick around to see who it was.

One of our SUPERVISORS came out of the bathroom and i nearly peed myself laughing and told her what people were thinking about her.

We got a very good giggle out of the whole thing.

She had a baby a few months before and was pumping.

we found her an office. :rofling: :roflhard: :rofling:

Funny that the vibrator was the explanation that popped into everyone's mind first!

OMG too funny. We have 2 fairly new girls in our office, one is constantly singing to like rap type music. You would think with all the singing she does she would be a happy person. NOT! And the other is pregnant and her husband keeps calling her on her cell phone. I mean I understand she is having problems and she had a miscarriage like in september but come on. Maybe she shouldn't be working any longer. geesh.

Cheers to having left the corporate world and become a teacher. I love that I am the only adult in my classroom and that I can have complete control over the noise levels, activity, etc. Plus I can go to the teachers lounge and get my fix of gossip and companionship whenever!

My favorite from my cube days was this woman who would sit in her cubicle and do her hair/makeup/perfume. Really. She would style her hair with a curling iron, then spray it with hairspray. Then she would put on makup and last, spray perfume all over herself. Once she stood up in her cube and sprayed perfume up her skirt!!!

I had a similar problem here at HOME, of all places.

My neighbor is always very loud and annoying. His porch is just beside my bedroom window.

Well, as some of you know, I had a hysterectomy recently, and I'm still stuck at home recuperating. I can't do any lifting or housework because of the stitches all across my belly.

Yesterday morning, my hubby left for work, and left our bedroom window open so I could enjoy the nice spring breeze all day. It was wonderful....until my neighbor got home.

The loud engine, the loud rap music on the radio....my blood beginning to boil.....and then some FRIENDS show up in his driveway. They are all out there talking as loud as possible, using very course language, and telling really raunchy jokes. I am fed up, so I try to close the window, but of course I don't have the strength. :wall:

After looking around the room and considering my options, I grab one of my Charlotte Church CDs. She can sing as high, clear and pure as a bird, you know. I put on the CD and turned up the volume as loud as I could stand. It was hilarious! I think they all must have stood there with their eyes open wide, thinking, "What the hell...?"

They decided to go inside to continue their "discussion".

Smugly, I turned down the volume and got back in bed to continue my knitting, while enjoying the rest of the CD. Charlotte Church is my GOOD friend now.
