Or, PLAN B!
The green I chose was so dark, it may have well been black. I couldn't distinguish the sts on size 3 needle to do ribbing.
Since I had just bought the yarn, I felt compelled to use it.
This is what I came up with. Something I would never had been attracted to for myself in a store, or knitting book.
So, to make it interesting, I tried to improve on some little used techniques.
1) This is the second time I used a Kitchener method of casting on for ribbing.
2) I did short rows for the second time in garter st. I have no idea if it's done "right", but I think it looks good.
3) To my amazement, and amusement, I, who was convinced ther was no way to graft garter st together, did!!!
The humorous thing was, that when I took a good look at the sweater, that I knit years ago, which I was copying the collar, the back collar was grafted correctly. :roflhard:
The yarn is so dark, I could not get a decient picture of the vest. I even went outside in the cold and wind to see if DH could get a shot that showed the pattern the yarn made. No luck there, so I tried the Ingrid method of self picture taking. Wish I could have hid my hands too.
The Mod Squad was here - Photo Resized. Pictures should be no more than 500 pixels wide.
