I'm looking for a pattern for a cloche hat - flapper style, similar to this (http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/6348/1676/1600/cloche2.0.jpg) or Marnie's Erte Cloche (http://marniemaclean.com/patterns/erte/index.html). Only, I want to make one for DD (she'll be one next week - eek!)
I've searched and searched, and I think I like Cirilia's (http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/6348/1676/1600/cloche2.0.jpg) the best. My question: If this is knit in the round (and I'd want it in the rounds to avoid seams), how do I keep the brim from rolling in?
I was thinking about doing a few inches in stockinette, then joining and doing a garter stitch...maybe switch to smaller needles? Then, the ribbon can go where I changed stitches. Does anyone have a better suggestion? Or, a pattern that google wasn't able to find?
thanks,
~Sharon
