View Full Version : FO - Doggie Sweater of my OWN design!

03-26-2006, 04:03 PM
Here is the sweater I made for Howie while I wrote the pattern for the doggie sweater class Im teaching at Chix With Stix starting next weekend. The pattern is written so you can use any yarn and any dog. My brain hurt a bit when I was done, but Im happy with the result! :cheering:

I used Plymouth Encore color #212.

Wow. A doggy designer in our midst. Before you know it, Paris Hilton will be requesting a personal design from you!

So cool!

Look at Howie's face! He looks so cool, so debonair. I think he thinks this was taken for a pin-up calendar.
He obviously loves his sweater, and so do I! :inlove:

I am doing the gauge swatch right now and almost done with it! I got some Plymouth Encore worsted in 241 (http://gallery.bcentral.com/GID4728469DD497549-Knitting/Knitting-Yarn/Plymouth-Yarn/Plymouth-Yarn-Encore-Worsted-Heather.aspx) which is sort of a pinky heather. I debated with getting the hot pink, but decided this might be pretty with her white fur.

OOOH Jan! That's gonna be LOVERLY!

 That is absolutely adorable. Did you make that in one day?

Maybe Howie should go out now and paint the town red? He's all dressed up with nowhere to go. :D

03-28-2006, 01:47 PM
It took a couple days....and he NEVER has nowhere to go! He's here at work with me today!

03-28-2006, 03:36 PM
Love the dog!! The sweater is pretty cute too! I hope I can do that someday.

03-28-2006, 07:30 PM
That is one stylin' pup all decked out in that fantastic sweater!

Any chance, if you post the pattern, it could stand to be modified to fit the long neck and deep chest of a sight hound?

03-29-2006, 08:26 AM
Jenny...the pattern is written so you measure your dog, and your gauge with your yarn, fill in some blanks and go!

03-29-2006, 11:57 AM
So unbelieveably adorable!   Fantastic job!

04-01-2006, 11:48 PM

Please, please, please let us know what you end up doing with the pattern. You can put me on the list to purchase.

You guys AMAZE me with all your talents! I don't think I could ever MAKE UP a pattern all by myself!

Nice job & smooches to Howie! What a stud muffin! :D

Very cute and thats his color  I don't know what my 5yr old shih-tzu would do if I put a sweater on him... I'd be afraid he would tear it to pieces
