:D I'm currently working on socks for my daughter's Easter basket. These are Pretty Petal socks, knit with KnitPicks' Essential sock yarn in green on size 1 addi's. One done, one to go...should be a complete set in a day or 2 ;)

:D Thanks, everyone! I have completed the 2nd Pretty Petal sock for my Baby (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y119/rebeccame/Our%20Shannon/Shannon.jpg) and am about to cast on for the 2nd pair, using Simple Stripes in Snapdragon (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y119/rebeccame/2006%20a%20new%20year%20in%20KNITTING/DSCN0882.jpg), I think I will do a chevron design....or Jaywalker socks (http://magknits.com/Sept05/patterns/jaywalker.htm) or......... :?? I'm not 100% sure which pattern I will use ;)

04-10-2006, 06:49 PM
WOW! Those socks are AMAZING!!!!

04-10-2006, 06:58 PM
Hey Becca! those are fancy schmancy..... look a lot better than the lace pattern I'm working on. Funny, I didn't knit yesterday and I was CRAZY TO KNIT this morning!!!!! socks socks and more socks......

04-11-2006, 10:57 AM
Those are great! I love that pattern!

04-11-2006, 11:02 AM
:D Thank you all so very, very much!! Vic, what are u working on? I love lace & I love socks....I love lace socks :D ! I knit a quick socklette (http://www.coats.de/PDF/reg_zehenfusslingENG.pdf) last night, but didn't have the correct yarn, I used KnitPicks' Dancing and I'm afraid I had to :frog: :frog: :frog: ....it was a horrid creature :roflhard: !!! I decided to get the right yarn, then give it another go :D So, I'm about to do what I should have done last night...cast on for the chevron socks ;)

04-11-2006, 01:18 PM
Ohh too bad about the frog pond again! Yeah, the right yarn for the socklettes is important. I like it a bit thicker, not too thin and I like wool too!
Well not too thick but not as thin as Knitpicks WOTA.

Funny, I started this last Sunday on the spur of the moment... the yarn had been laying around for a year and I thought it was ugly colours but it rose to the challenge! ha It's from that Sock Book and really easy pattern. The heel flap is turning out different, like just 2 colours instead of a lot.

Here it is: it doesn't look that lacy does it? but interesting anyhow

04-11-2006, 01:22 PM
I can see the lace :D , it's like the socks that I did for my aunt, I think when using a multi-color yarn the pattern doesn't pop as it does with solid ;)

04-12-2006, 11:01 AM
yup that's true! pop Unbelievable, I'm sitting here all morning trying to undo the mess I made last night..... when picking up stitches along the gusset thingy I just shouldn't have had a glass of wine alongside....
Yuk! what a mess....

and I was doing so wellllll

04-12-2006, 01:20 PM
:( OH NO!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so sorry :(

04-12-2006, 01:42 PM
THANKS Rebecca....! I got it all back to normal with a lot of patience!

I think I'll knit a very simple pair next, know what I mean?

04-12-2006, 02:53 PM
:D Yep, I do...I'm currently knitting the simplest of socks for Shannon's 2nd pair for her Easter basket...was going to knit chevron, but they would have been too big for her, so I'm doing these (http://www.magknits.com/Apr06/patterns/slinky.htm) fun socks...super easy ;)

04-13-2006, 11:09 AM
I saw those slinky socks before but I never noticed NO PURLS? wow
and super easy.... that sounds like a great sock. Btw, you mentioned chevron which I guess is what I making... they're looking a tad biggish.
Do you find they stretch a lot because maybe I should decrease a little for the bottom of the foot. I'd hate to go through allthis work and have them too big.

04-13-2006, 11:57 AM
I decided against the chevrons bc the patterns that I have were too big for my daughter's foot.

04-13-2006, 03:53 PM
Love those socks! They look similar to a pattern I want to try out of Jeanie Townsends, and a heck of a lot neater than the mess of a lace sock I have on my Bryspuns {which I'm not happy with... the pattern or the needles :( }.

04-13-2006, 05:01 PM
:D Thanks, don't u just love Jeanne Townsend's patterns?!

04-13-2006, 05:10 PM
Those are just gorgeous. I can only hope - one day! :notworthy:

04-14-2006, 06:54 PM
Thank you very much...I have no doubt that you will be doing them, they are not difficult at all :D
