What size needles and length do you use when you are knitting socks with two circular needles? Is there a way to use the Denise Interchangables for this?

I use size 0 - 2 addi circs, 16" and 24"/ ideally for me it would be using 2 24" circs, so I've ordered more 24" circs ;)

I also prefer 24 inch needles, the size depends on the weight of yarn I am using. I don't see why you couldn't use the Denise needles. It would be easy enough to try it and find out.

Depending on the weight of yarn you use, you could use your denises. Since they only go down to a 5 they would be too big for fingering weight sock yarn, but there are other options that would work with a 5.

You'd have to plan socks for a size 6 needle, then put the 6's on the rigt and the 5's on the left as you knit. Works great!

Do you have to use a certain pattern to use circulars for socks. I thought a lady at my knit store was using 1 circular with the front of the sock in front and the back of the sock in back. Curious on how to do it???

Here's a link to check out that has details on knitting with two circs. Be sure to see her socks link also. She mentions Cat Bordi's book "Socks that Soar on Two Circular Needles". This book has several patterns written specifically for socks on two circs AND also has instructions on how to convert patterns originally written for dpns.

I keep toying with the idea of doing this but since I've only knit one pair of socks so far and thoroughly enjoyed doing in on dpns I think I'll continue that route for a little while at least (and save my pennies for some addis :D ).

I love sockbug's (http://sockbug.blog-city.com/) sock patterns for 2 circs, I'm currently working on Sheri's Lace Socks (http://files.blog-city.com/files/aa/3830/b/sherislace.pdf) for my sister's bday! She also has directions for circular cast on.
