I am making my first sweater out of a chunky cotton/rayon. The pattern does not call for blocking before putting it together and there are not any finished measurements for the pieces. I asume I do not block in this case. Am I right?

I think it's always best to block. It will make seaming SO much easier!

I don't block anything until it's put together. If you like the way looks, then leave it as is. I haven't done any cotton blocking, personally, but you could if you felt it needed it.

thank you for the replies. BTW, I went to the Irish Baby Knits site and the yarn is BEAUTIFUL! The colorways are amazing.

What she said. :D

Once everything's put together, if it looks the way you want it and it fits right, no need to bother with blocking.
