Ok, so my sister has a friend in Virginia who lives on a farm. They have multiple adopted and biological children, totalling somewhere around 14 I think. Nuts, I tell you, nuts.
Anyway, They are all very crafty, in that they weave, knit, crochet, spin , etc etc etc.
She was talking to her friend today and she's getting some alpaca for her farm. My sister and I are chipping in to purchase 3. 3 ALPACAS. I think I'll name them Hughie, Dewie, and Louie.
Anywhoo, the fleece, are alllll mine. My sister doesn't knit.
MINE MINE MINE
Three alpaca fleeces for. well, forever. How long do Alpacas live anyway?
I want to get in the car right now and go visit them, and pet them and love them.
Who wants to be my best friend?

Hee! You guys are too much.
My sister's friend is getting somewhere upwards of 20, I believe. Her family will care for them and do all the hard work. I just get to send them care packages and visit them and then knit my crazy fool head off with the yummy yummy yarn they produce.
I think we're getting white. Lovely, completely dyable white.
I don't think they're babies though. If they were, I'd have to lure them into my car and bring them home because BABY ALPACAS AAAHHHHHHH.
I can't wait to go meet them.

Hi if you need another best friend I come with great references!!
That is totally my dream! I already live in Virginia, I just need to get a farm. I was at an exhibit once where a woman was spinning her alpacas' fleece it was such yummy yarn. I am soo jealous!
i am planning to get alpacas and jacob sheep when i move. i simply don't have the land where i am at the moment. thats amazing to be able to do it yourself. totaly self sufficiant. thats my dream for life in general not just knitting. here in france its quite possible.
