Hello Everyone,

I just found this wonderful site. I am 53 (last Monday), married, 4 grown children, 4 granddaughters, and 3 dogs (one my own and 2 visiting).

I taught myself to knit using books about 45 years ago. One day I saw someone knit using the Continental Method. It looked very efficient to me so I watch her for about 5 minutes and went home and figured it out. The only way I could figure out how to purl was what I now find out is the Combined method. Which makes the knit stitch look twisted. Because I assumed all this time I taught myself how to purl wrong I refused to teach anyone. It is so great to find out I am not knitting wrong. I actually purl using a method...WOW.

I love to Aran knit. I am having a bit of trouble learning to use a graph. But I hope to get the hang of it. I also want to learn Fair Isle knitting.

Love this site,

Welcome! Nice to have another grandma on board. While there are a few of us grandmas here... I was looking at the photos people had posted on another thread and there are a LOT of younger knitters here too... or maybe the older I get the bigger % of younger people there are out there.
