I'd really like to do a light lacy summer sweater to wear over these long dresses with NO SLEEVES that I have. I never show my upper arms, but I'm hot- natured, so I need LIGHTNESS!!. Does anyone know of a light lacy (free) pattern I might try?? I know how to knit--but I've never done a sweater before!

THANKS YA'LL!!

I know a good source of lacy sweaters, but they aren't free patterns.

You might try http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com though - they have a great range of patterns for free.

Here is a knit a long that I started (http://www.knittinghelp.com/knitting/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12876) for a Lacy Wrap sweater. It is found in Stitch 'n Bitch Nation, so not technically free if you don't have the book but I have it borrowed from the library. It is a lovely lace pattern in a very fine gauge for the size of item it is, it takes quite a while to make but is very pretty. I am about 2/3 way finished the back piece, you can see my progress in the link above.
