Knitting newbie here - please be gentle. ;)

I'm going to attempt to make baby shoes from a Debbie Bliss pattern. It calls for moss stitch but doesn't mention which cast-on method to use. I've only ever used cable cast-on, but noticed a few others demonstrated on this site. Is there a preferred cast-on method for this type of stitch? (e.g. double cast-on)

I use the long-tail cast on for everything, unless the pattern tells me otherwise. :D
