- Pattern: Everyone's Doing It Shrug (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=48268.20)
- US 10.5 Denises
- Yarn: Patons Classic Wool #240-Leaf Green

http://imarried.jongilmore.com/blog/uploaded_images/shrug2.jpg This was an easy-peasy knit - a great stash buster! I finished this last night and wore it today. I actually got compliments on it tonight at dinner! :D I'm thinking about picking up stitches and adding a collar, though. Any thoughts on the best way to do this?

"Does that mean you have to do it?"

heh I guess it does. :)

It looks great!

Looks lovely, as do you!

You know what, I wouldnt add a collar. I would be afraid of it taking something awayf from the knit itsself or your pretty face. I think its perfect. But of course I would be interested to see what the possibilities would be. :)

Beautiful job on the shrug. Cute kitty!

Thanks, everyone! Seriously, this pattern was ridiculously easy. I'm not a shrug gal at all (I'm always thinking that they just make my gazongas look huger than they already are), but this one is just too cute.

Brutus is in the first pic because he kept gnawing at my skirt while DH was trying to take my pic. He's such a diva.

Gorgeous! I love the way you've paired it with the green top. Very nice!

Very pretty and I love the color!

Very cute! I made one of these too--great for when you want just a little more coverage but not a lot of warmth. ;)

I love that! I'd make one right now if I could get to the pattern.
I feel you on the shrugs making boobs look huger thing...Bulky shrugs and ones without real sleeves (like that one!) seem to be okay, though.

It is very cute and looks very cute on you!

Thanks, everyone!
I guess craftster has been down for a little bit...

Since a few of you have requested the pattern, here it is (it's from the top of my noodle - I didn't write it down):

- Yarn: Worsted weight - about 50 grams.
(I'm not sure on the exact amount since I used a lonely ball from my stash that didn't have a label, but it was a lot less than I thought it would be.)

- needles: US 10.5 16" circulars
(You don't work in the round, but the circs help you because you're not smooshing the stitches all on one needle.)

CO 40.
row 1: *k1, p1 repeat from * until end of row.
row 2: *p1, k1 repeat from * until end of row.

Continue in moss stitch (rows 1 and 2) for a total of 10 rows.
row 11: Knit

for the body:
row 1: *k1, yo repeat from * until end of row (you'll end with just a k1, though)
row 2: Knit across, dropping all yo's.
row 3: Knit

That's it. Continue in pattern until the body reaches across your back.
Do 10 rows of moss stitch for other arm.

To finish, sew up the moss stitch part to form the armholes.
Find a summer dress, slap on your new shrug, and go out on the town!
