I found a free afghan pattern on the 'net that calls for Berroco "Air". I would like to find an acrylic "equivalent" to it. It says it is a bulky yarn, but all I've seen are pictures, and it's hard for me to judge just how bulky it is.

Yeah, I realize I'm being cheap, but I'm going to be making these for Christmas presents, and the whole point is to save $$$$ - thus the search for acrylic yarn (I've got 10 to make).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!!!

If you want something cheap, go with Bernat Softee Chunky. (http://www.bernat.com/product.php?LGC=softeechunky&PHPSESSID=4dee76dbcb47516d11677cdd589ef019) Comes in a variety of colors, and I've used it to knit up on size 11 needles wonderfully. What pattern are you using? You might need to play around with it a little to to get the right gauge(if it's recommended in the pattern)

It's around $1.50 a skein, and you get 165 yards.
