I'd like to knit a little thank-you gift for my physical therapist. Of course I have no idea of sizes, or I'd make a pair of socks.

She runs. She's in her 40's. We're in central Texas where it is usually in the 40's or 50's early morning in winter. Would a watch cap be too warm?

The other thing I've thought of is a little zippered coin purse, if I can find a pattern. Then I could really go gaga over the fiber.

Any other ideas?

A cell phone or Ipod holder for when she runs? Maybe a cotton headband or wrist bands? Or a water bottle holder?

You are so nice even thinking about giving a gift to your therapist. My therapist charged me an arm and a leg and I want him to give me gifts, preferably a big bag of good yarn ;)

I think a little zippered coin purse will be nice.

What about even just an ear warmer or something like that. A hat might be too warm. An ear warmer would at least prevent ear aches...

Thanks for the help. I picked up a skein of Noro Sakura at lunch that I'm going to let choose which it wants to be.

That's exactly what I usually do. I let the yarn tell me what it wants to be. We must be artists. :)

I am a runner and if she is running in 40's to 50's even an ear warmer would be too warm :( I like the change purse or bag idea. It's cool that you like your PT so much that she deserves a knitted gift!

Maybe a backpack or fanny pack? I know I've seen lots of patterns for those. I also saw a pattern for a water bottle cozy.

I might be making this up but... I could have sworn I read somewhere that the average persons foot length is equal to 15% of their height. So theoretically if you could find out your PT's height you could knit a pair of socks that would fit.
Because I am a gigantic dork I just went to measure my foot and it was right on.
I am 5ft 6 inches or 66 inches x .15 = 9.9 inches my foot is 10 inches long - Weird huh!

eta for spelling

:roflhard: Well I don't know if that's true, but it makes me feel better! I always thought my feet were big but according to that formula my feet are actually a little smaller than they should be.

You're a sweetie! I like the idea for an ipod or cell phone bag. I live in TX too and can't fanthom wearing a watchcap or ear muffs!!

These are cute...
