Can anyone tell me the difference between mercerized and egyptian cotton? Do they knit/drap/wear differently?

from knitty.com
Mercerized cotton refers to a chemical process that strengthens the fibers and can technically be done to any type of cotton fiber. Itís like superwash wool; the treatment process doesnít change the original quality, or lack of quality, of the fibers. Just alters them slightly.

So I would say if the Egyptian cotton has been mercerized, then there is no difference between the two.
