From Vogue Knitting Spring/Summer 2006. I used Rowan Luxury Cotton in White.

I am so pleased that it fits just like the peasant skirts I've purchased from a store. I  it even though it took me 3 months to make (not non-stop knitting, obviously). DK weight yarn makes it kinda heavy when you hold the FO, but when you wear it you don't really feel the weight. It might not be a skirt for very very hot days, due to the thickness, but it will make a lovely skirt for a nice, sunny day. :happydance:

That looks really, really professional. I almost can't even tell that it's knitted - It almost looks sewn. GREAT job! :happydance: :cheering:

Thank you all so much for your wonderfully kind words! I really do think it came out beautifully. If you can stand the seemingly endless rows of stockinette done in the round, then I definitely recommend it! It IS a perfect project when you don't want to think about what you're knitting!

Newamy, since you asked, here are a few closeups of the skirt. The first is a sort of overall closeup, while the second is of the lower half and the crocheted edging (which I had to quickly learn to do to complete this project!). They aren't the clearest photos, but at least you can tell it was indeed knitted! :)
