Here's (http://www.xtreme-knitting.com/Photos-knittingneedleholder.htm) a holder...I guess it's been sewn, but you could knit a really long rectangle and maybe line it with something.

That's the one I did. It's a great stash buster too. I just did a couple rows in each color I had :)

I made this one in stripes - it was a great way to use up the itchy wool that I swore I'd never use again, but couldn't bring myself to throw away.

I would like to try my hand at making one of these also. Since the pattern doesn't specify, what size needles did you use and what's the best yarn? (I started with size 15 and soft worsted wool but it didn't seem right and I figure maybe a stiffer wool might work better?)

Thanks!

I suggest smaller needles for stiffer piece, if you would like to continue using the same wool.

i agree. smaller needles. size 15 seems pretty big for a worsted yarn.

Sandra, your kitty looks like MY kitty! Maybe they are long lost relatives. Oh they'll have a meow-fest (similar to a gab-fest) when they meet each other. :D

Except my kitty has slightly yellowy eyes. ;)

Here is the pattern I'm going to use (without the flowers). You have to be a member but I think that's free.

Edited because I'm obviously blind....its the same as the Michael's pattern.

:cheering: Thanks so much for the link to the roll up -non felted case.... I have been looking for something like this FOREVER! I made a crochet hook case a couple years ago, somewhat like this, only it was constructed in 2 layers, and folds like a book. But I love it, beacuse its from yarn. I have been looking for the perfect needle case, and never even thought of yarn! Now I can do a knitting needles case too!! I can't believe that I never thought of doing this. HAH! I need to start right away.... :-) :cheering:
